hi, i just saw a movie "Alfie", dp was Ashley Rowe, I love the cinematography and how he's mixing lights and ambients, love cool and warm atmospheres, anybody knows the technical aspect on this feature any article...?, at IMDB they only say was shoot at 35mm spherical lenses, probably people in UK know more his work... thanks

Ashley Rowe is an ex BBC film cameraman always in demand over here , if you get a chance try to get a look of a film called " Calender Girls " , i was really impressed with his work on that , seems to like S35 for 2.35 .

That's good. These poor 'generic' cameramen rarely seem to make it. :(

Matthew, think you ought to do a bit of research on BBC cameramen who have done well ,starting with Brian Tuffano BSC.

I'm pretty sure that some will make it. I just meant that I feel sorry for all those cameramen who'll never be able to show what they can really do to the world. :(

I'd go earlier and say Dick Bush. :)

Then Phil Meheux, Tony Imi, Tony Pierce Roberts, Mike Southon, Andrew Dunn, Chris Seager, Remi Adefarasin, Mike Fash, Paul Wheeler- it's a pretty thorough name-drop!
