Hey, whats the best deal that one could get on an older 35mm camera package in France. I looked at the technovision website, and although the prices aren't bad, I am wondering if I could find better. It would be a week long shoot during the winter. Anyone from france have any input?

Cheers,

Steve

In Luxembourg, which is stuck between Germany and France, we always rent from Germany (Arri Rental) because it is cheaper than France. It might be worth trying to get a deal from them, also they are associated with French rental house Bogard.

Sorry I'm late on this thread...

Max, I guess you like renting in germany when you shoot in Luxembourg because it ain't too far. I, as well, would feel much self assured if the rental house wasn't too far from where I shoot...

Bogard is the Arri official rep in Paris for a couple of years now, so I'm not too sure they'd have older arri 35 cameras

Panavision in Paris does have older ones, an arri BL IV S would be very cheap to rent... And you always can "talk" with the guys, especially if it's a short...

You can also try IRIS camera :

There is no reason not to rent in France if you shoot in France, sorry so...

Hi Stephen, your mailbox is full so I let my message here,

I'm a DP, owner of a full Arriflex 35-3 Package...maybe we can work together on your winter project...If you take your DP with you I can be your Focus puller and rent my Camera but I won't rent it without me...

Hi, Thibaut (he's one of our fellows at camera-forum.fr...). May I just remind Stephen the ARRI 3 is not a silent camera, but if he actually needs a not-silent one, fur sure the ARRI 3 is a good horse !
