The cheap, fast way is use eye shadow in dark brown, purple, charcoal and white and a make-up brush, the purple and charcoal are at the impact point, the brown blends in for realism and white and/or light beige is used to help simulate swelling. With a little practice, you can makes some truly vicious looking bruises. ;)
