Does anyone know offhand how many volts a Victory V16B Battery Belt puts out?

I don't have a meter and I thought someone might know or have one.

I do know the belt powered an Arri 2C.

A friend of mine gave it to me as a spare for my Bolex EL but I don't wan't to hook it up until I know hoe many volts it puts out.

Thanks

Kip

I don't want to sound like one of the "you need to be fully equiped before you even get out of bed with a movie camera" type of folks, but I don't know how any Household can afford to be without a cheap DVM these days. Just to check outlets if the lights dim! You can pick a basic one up for about 20 Bucks at places like "canadian Tire" or "Radio Shack"

! Mains power is not something to be poking a cheap meter into! It may have a 1000VAC range but if it's not rated CATI or CATII you are risking your life. I've seen such meters actually explode on more than one occasion.

Regarding the battery belt - can you access the cells to read their label? If they are NiCd or NiMH they are 1.2v each x number of cells = total voltage (providing they are wired in series).

I think the cells are just velcro'ed in behind some leather... I'll see what I come up with

Thanks

Of course if it's discharged a meter won't help much anyway.
