hello again !

i wanted to ask whats the major difference between the Arri ST(B) and the Arri M(B) ?
and how would it effect on the price ?

and again the question with the SN, how high does it need to be that i can still get it serviced by arri (in my case in munich), if anyone knows for ST (one i have got with the number 17254) and M (with the SN M464)

thank you very much for help !

Hi Rafael!

The main difference is that the Arri M has no ability to carry film internally. So you need the 400 ft magazine. The Arri ST can load an internal 100ft daylight spool film load.

AFAIK Arri will service Arri S cameras from 15 000 up. But we have a resident Arri SM expert here (forgive the pun, Tim :D), who will be able to tell you in more detail. His name is Tim Caroll and you'll find more info on his website at http://www.arri16s.com/.

HTH, Dave

PS: I am currently in the process of buying an Eclair NPR 16mm camera. Good to know you'll have an Arri soon!

The M model Arri gear drives the magazine as opposed to the S model which has a seperate motor drive that is attached to the side of the magazine. Elsewise the basic movement is the same.
