Anyone use M-AUDIO MICROTRACK 24/96 for scratch track?

I am considering using the M-AUDIO MICROTRACK 24\96 portable sound recorder for scratch track and am curious if anyone else has used it and if it will deliver the quality neccessary? Obviously the mic has something to do with it, and Im using an Audix UEM-81 shotgun condenser which has been decent for other projects.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, along with advice of other products that might work better for around the same price (USD$300). What made me notice it was the fact that its portable, cheap, and has a direct uplink to PC for instant editing.
