Single stripe, 2 stripe and full coat mag reels What is is each used for? why are there three and which is best for general purpose recording? I'm going to take a stab at this and guess dual stripe is for stereo recording and full mag is the best GP recording type but why there are single stripe and full mag, I can't fathom. Is there any descriptions about these products anywhere? Thanks
It's been a while since I had to deal with them, but 2-stripe would be for storing two reels of finished track.
Often tracks would be recorded or printed that way to save storage/shipping space.
Full coat would be used for multiple tracks. Very common is dialoge/music /efx tracks.
