Hello,

I'm seeking recommendations for a reliable S8 sound projector, presumably one that can handle 1200' reels. What would you folks suggest?

Thanks.

The Elmo GS-1200 projector, especially with a Xenon or HTI lamp, seems to have a lot of enthusiastic supporters (especially at 8mm Forum), but it's not inexpensive. The Beaulieu 708 EL Stereo projector, also available in Xenon and HTI versions, is highly regarded by some, although it's perhaps more fragile than the Elmo. The Fumeo 9145 Xenon 500 may be the best of all, but it's no longer manufactured and consequently extremely rare.

Hi, it really depends on your budget???, 1200ft capacity, elmo gs1200, if you can live with 800ft go for a bauer T502,510,525 or 610. Be carefull with the elmo, the film guide channel wears and this scratches the film, i know, i rented an elmo a few years back, ruined 800ft of camera original film:(.
