Hey All,

Does anyone have any idea what features are thinking of using RED or are currently shooting with RED now?

Thanks,
JGS

Dear Brad,

Sorry about the name thing. It just slipped my mind.

Let's see "The Sound of Music" "Lawrence of Arabia" and "2001 a Space Oddysee" are famous 65mm productions that could have used a Red camera if the technology were available then.

Yes, and I COULD HAVE used the Red for my home videos if it had existed when I was shooting them. What's the point exactly?

Getting back on topic. These films are currently known to be using the RED camera in some form or another...

Wanted http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493464/
Guerilla http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374569/
The Argentine http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892255/

I also read a recent interview with Roger Avery on AICN where he said he was planning to shoot a film using the RED - although what that film is I don't know.

I expect there are a few large productions out there right now planning to use the RED within the next year or so.

Don't these two films sound the same... both say tell how Che goes to New York to chat to the UN...

Same cast and everything... unless its suppose to a two parter... every time I see that I keep thinking about that...

Oops looks like they just changed it after I wrote this... I guess the second one he goes to Cuba...

Thanks for the reply Will. I was just wondering what big names were going to be the first to give RED a shot (no pun intended). Is there any word on what the Halo movie is/might shoot on?

Right now it looks like it's going to be shot on optimism.

The footage I've seen from the Optimism looks great - heaps better than any film or digital motion picture camera currently available.
