Hello!

If I have a BNCR camera, can I use an adapter to fit PL lenses on my BNCR mount?

The PL mount is smaller in diameter than the BNCR - 54mm versus 68mm - quite a significant difference.

Can you build a PL-BNCR adapter? Is there anything to prevent it? Are there any already existing?

I am not talking about a lens that has both mounts on it (I know some exists, and this proves the point). I am inquiring about a dedicated adaptor.

Mike

PS I do know that the reverse (BNCR-PL) is impossible.

I don't know of such an adaptor. However, you can have changeable fronts made for some cameras. Generally, you would have a technician change the front when the need arises, as they can make sure everything lines up to the micron. If you want to be able to quickly change and mix both BNCR and PL lenses on the same camera for a particular project, that may not be practical.

One alternative approach could be to change the PL lenses to bayonet mount (some can be mounted either way), then use a bayonet to BNCR adaptor.

But the flange depth on the BNCR is 61mm and the PL is 52mm.
It would have to fit inside BNC port yet have room in there for a locking ring for the PL lens.
