Is it possible to attend the awards in Janurary? I REALLY REALLY want to be there to congratulate whoever picks up the awards.

There are tickets, which are quite expensive (even as an ASC member, I have to buy one -- it's for fund raising afterall) but many people try and get one of the vendors who have bought whole tables to invite them as a guest, so hopefully you're friendly with one of those companies...

Most years that I've gone, I've been a guest of Fuji.

Offer to volunteer in some capacity; these events always need some sort of extra help. You could very well be stuck in a corner in the back guarding an empty room but then again, you might get lucky. Either way, you'll make new contacts and friends. Keep in mind though it would not be good form to run around handing cards out.

Just out of curiosity: What are you hoping to accomplish by going to the ASC awards?
How do you justify spending $300 "to congratulate the winners?
I am just curious because that amount of money can be spent by a film student in lots of ways.
With all due respect, the congratulations of ones peers is what is most important to working professionals in this field.

300 isn't that bad. I think I might go. This years nominees and winners are sure to be awesome.

Do I just call the ASC and ask about tickets?
