I've just started researching this for a film coming up in the next few months but wondered if any one had insight/experience that was willing to point me in a direction.

The film requires at least three characters played by the same actor in a single frame that must interact with one another. The main concerns, are conversation and movement timing so we are wanting shoot one of the characters against the real background, then do the rest against greenscreen. To solve the timing issue we felt image overlay playback would be the best. I am unaware as to what kind of equipment is necessary to do this and ask for any recommendations if people have them. Anyone familiar with this process or use a better one to solve the same situation?
