What would be nice is to form a group and then help find funding for the groups films. And then using the expertise within the group for crewing and production.

I am also moving to London in January, so if this works out, keep me in mind for the meet-up.

Thats a bit more complicated - personaly i was just thinking of meeting for a few pints and having a good old bitching session. Raising finance is for producers:)

Raising finance is for producers

In an ideal world the good guy always wins too. You know as well as I any such golden boy with such skill would be able to choose what film THEY want to make as they ae inundated in fact often so much so that email links become dead correspondence unanswered and if your persistant enough and angry rebuttal of why your idea cant ever work OR perhaps even a kind letter apreciating your enthusiasm.

Hey a list

Its been done before
Its to mainstream
Its not mainstream
Is not developed.
Its to complicated
Its to expensive
Its not big enough
Its to big
The main character needs more developement
The love interest isnt developed
The love interest is to developed over shadowing the main action
We take scripts from the beginning stage
Your script isnt ready for production
It is ready for production and therefore doesnt fall within our criteria.
We feel your script is a great idea and your obvious enthusiasm shows through but unfortuately we look at hundreds of others.

Te tip of the iceberg?

Yes in an ideal world you could go out hire a producer to find your funding.

There are courses on producing if you want to learn how to put together a production. Talking in the pub isn't what producing is about unless it's part of putting together a deal.

Producers won't get involved in a project unless they're passionate about it: they know they'll be dealing with the thing for years.

I could possible make it. Unless you're all planning on getting pickled.

I hate alcohol. Sugarless Cola, Milk, Bottled Water, or Tea.

Sorry. I worded that incorrectly. I LOVE tea! Earl Grey. I only ever drink Sugarless Cola, and won't leave the house without a bottle of water (tap water).

How about the Video Forum at Earls Court? 30th of January 08.

I think Arri might be there.

I made the mistake of going by myself last time...

We could make things even more interesting and go pub before we hit the show if you wanted.

If we do go ahead with this, just make sure you book in advance (it's free). Otherwise it's £15 at the door.

Which equals less beer money. And I don't know too many producers that are passionate enough to go raising it for you.
