Hi everyone, shooting my first project with the F900 next month, looking for some advice on media storage. It is my understanding that you can record to tape, to a hard drive with HDSDI output, or both at the same time. I would prefer to record just to hard drive, because the project is fairly low budget and recording to tape seems to add unnecessary cost and time because of the need to rent a deck and ultimately digitize the footage anyways. Furthermore, the footage should be easily reviewable on set if necessary if it has been digitally recorded. If anyone can offer opinions about a good workflow, I would appreciate it. Thanks,

Corey

The HD-SDI out is uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 1080P, which is much higher in quality than what gets recorded internally by the HDCAM VTR, but now you have to deal with a lot more data on the set. I think at 24P, that's 1016 Mbits/sec.
