Is there an equivalent to American Cinematographer in the directing world? I've searched but can't seem to find one. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Xavier. I contacted them about a subscription. I checked out the DGA's website before but I couldn't find anything. Maybe I just missed it, obviously!

If you speak French, get a subscription to 'Positif'. They have great interviews with directors. None of that superficial backslapping, they know how films are made and ask very good questions.

May I suggest director's commentaries? Even the not-so-swell ones teach you new things. No better resource for learning.

Well besides experience.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. As far as commentaries go, it's a major selling point of DVDs for me. I always listen to them a few times.
