Hey guys

I need to shoot a scene were glitter is falling from the ceiling. What are some good techniques for getting the glitter to sparkle without it looking too staged? I'm gonna be shooting on the dvx.
thanks

Glitter, or metallic confetti? Glitter would be such a mess and it'll be weeks before it's totally out of your hair, clothes, etc.

But to answer your question, a moderately sized industrial fan up above the scene should do the trick if you're wanting it to fall in an even spread and not in clumps as if someone is just throwing it from above.

I think you would get the nicest sparkle out of the glitter by lighting a big silk somewhere behind camera. It doesn't have to be brightly lit, just enough to look white reflected in all the little bits of glitter. Mix that with some hard light for some really bright twinkles of light. You could also light it like you might smoke or haze and get shafts of really sparkly light through the falling glitter. There are tons of options and they probably all look pretty cool.
