A friend of mine is trying to buy her husband a directors viewfinder for Christmas. She has about $300. Any recommendations. Both 35mm 16mm and video needs. Specific models or brands to avoid would be nice as well. Thanks in advance.

There is the Kish finder, I think several models are available, should be around that price.

I have used the Kish finder and while the markings weren't extremely accurate(at least for S16) it worked.

The Mark Vb is the standard but it is twice the price and much larger and heavier.
