Hi,

my problem is seemingly simple, but has me completely stumped!

i cant seem to get the viewfinder menu to display on the field monitor. I have connected to the monitor through the HD/SDI output from the camera.

the picture looks great but not only is the menu not showing, but neither does any of the camera info, lens, aperture, filter etc.

hope theres some help out there.. thanks

I'm not completely sure but I believe you can't display the viewfinder menu via the HD/SDI out. You have to use the "MONITOR OUT" BNC type connector which is located on the dumb side of the camera. When looking at the dumb side it should located on the lower left corner. You can always skim the manual for that type of stuff as well. Hope that helps.

Hi Gautam - you can in fact insert the viewfinder display to you field monitor using the HD/SDI out on the 900R.

To do so though the camera needs the software upgrade version 1.20 and FP version 1.02 which came out in May 2007 and appears on the camera menu as 'video mix menu' on page 37. The viewfinder and/or timecode can be displayed via the HD/SDI out any time the camera is not actually recording - it appears and disappears before and after each take.

Hope this helps

Best regards

On front left side....hold cancel toggle down at the same time as flipping menu toggle down. Then flip menu toggle to on. Menu's will then display on monitor.

Thanks for the replys. sounds like the upgrade could be it. because it doesnt even show a 'video mix menu' option!

incidentally i managed to get the menu to show through the test out. camera info still doesnt show though.

thanks once again.

cheers

I've output to a monitor using HD/SDI. With some cameras though (namely the Varicam), you have to go into the menu to make that an option.
