One thing I would have done differently in your second shot was to make sure that the light pole in the background didn't come out of your subject's head. besides that, they look pretty good to me!

Those look good for what they are - the only critique I have is that the pictures are vague family/home stuff - you should go shoot some interesting things and see how your skills hold up away from home. I mean that in a positive way.
