Say I want to move a clip exactly three seconds to the left on the timeline... how do I do that without dragging it with the mouse?

I know there exist a "Move:" box in the middle of the timeline but I can't seem to find a way to make it pop up.

Select the clip with the arrow tool and type on the numeric keypad +300 then ENTER.

You can do similiar things with other tools, like roll, slip, etc., you just have that tool selected. Move is the default behavior if you just have the arrow selected.
