In my cinematography class we had two kinds of light meters. light meters that read in footcandles and digital light meters that read in Lux. Our instructor didn't know how to measure in Lux. I was wondering what the difference is between footcandles and lux, and how do you measure lighting ratios in lux?

1 fc = 10.76 lux

Everything is done exactly the same as with footcandles, just different numbers. Double the lux is still a stop hot, et cetera.
