I have a Leicina Special camera

Somehow the glass inside the viewfinder where the 3 different focusing plates are, went off!!
The glass is still in the camera but I can not see it - When I turn the viewfinder turret around nothing happens :-(

Can I still us the camera? or does it need to go for service.

You can still use the camera for filming as the triple glass is in the viewfinder system's optical path and not in the optical path leading up to the camera gate where the actual frame gets exposed.

So a malfunction should not impede filming.

However, obviously, focusing using aerial, ground glass or rangefinder is lacking, and depending on your filming skills, this is a feature easily missed; especially as this triple solution is unique to the Leitz Leicina special!

I am unfamiliar with the internal constructions of that camera when it comes to dissassembly and repair processes, so I would naturally suggest to send it in for service. This camera is in theory quite worth that effort, with its interchangeable lens option and excellent supplied lens, the Schneider 11x6mm.
