I really liked this film, I really loved the simple and tense story with its healthy amount of comic relief and really enjoyed how the story progressed and moved along at a good pace in my opinion.
Meryl Streep was good as always, and very natural in her role. Aidan Quinn was quite good as the jerky professor. And Ye Liu definitely matched up to them, although in some scenes his voice was kind of strange, made me wonder if all his lines were dubbed by some other actor.
But geez, what a horrible and so utterly cliché ending. I saw it coming at least 5 minutes before the "climax" happened, and started to get noticeably angry at the screen because the story was so well told, I hated it for where it was going. The story is about a mathematical genius who is studying cosmology...you think he'd be smart enough to know what his options are in the end.
