Is it time to create a 3D (or stereoscopic) forum here at cinematography.com?

seems like there are a lot of threads on the subject in a variety of forums (general, VFX, Digital/HD/RED), and it seems likely that there is going to be more discussion in this area in the near future.

A lot of people thought of 3D as a gimmick 50 yrs. ago, and a lot of people still feel the same way. I don't think there's anywhere near the level of support to justify its own forum here. It'd probably be suitable to post 3D questions under the Special Effects Section.

The only problem with that is that people don't know to do that. They post about 3D in lots of places. Giving 3D a place of its own, perhaps as a subform under special effects, might induce a little better organization.

A subfourm under FX would work well, I think, to organize posts. Not as big a subject as 35mm or Digital Cinema, obviously, but one with a lot of activity lately in the industry.

CML has a 3D forum, perhaps not it's busiest, but this still gets a steady stream level of messages.
