Well, first a cartridge jam/ pre-mature END signal... and now...

my canon 1014xls refuses to show any sign of life.

No battery measure reading, no function, new batteries of course.

Know where i could send it for repairs, or have any idea how much money i am looking to spend?

Thanks-

Nicholas

Sorry to hear that Nick...what a fantastic camera to have go dead on you.

Spectra film & video will repair the beast but expect to spend between 150-300 to do it. This may seem steep but for your camera, it may be well worth it. Once it's fixed, it will run smoother than ever.

Good luck to you.

You're in Florida I see. I've fixed some S8's before, including a "broken" Leicinia. Want me to take a look at it, providing you're not too distant?

Yeah, that would be awesome.

The camera worked perfectly on the first 5 or 6 rolls i shot, so hopefully the problem isn't too severe.

I live in orlando, where are you located?

I'm in Tampa, about an hour away. I'll be heading to Lakeland next week for a small shoot, so if you'd like to meet there as it's halfway, we can make arrangements.

Yeah, that would be awesome.

Also, if you need any help with the shoot whatsoever i would love to lend a hand. Even if that means just cleaning up or running an errand or two to the store... i know extra hands can be helpfull.

Smart move Nick...you are going to go places with that fantastic attitude. I wish you were in Cali in September and I'd have you be PA if you were interested.

Good luck to you both.

I just might take you up on it. And yes indeed, the right attitude.

Incidentally, I *will* be in the Sacramento area in September...

I would ask you if you want to DP but Matteo Castelli from Italy is coming out for that. What's bringing you out here? A DP job?

Nope, just visiting family.
