If you were mounting a pedestal/riser assembly on a doorway dolly, where would you put it? In the center? More to one end? I saw a Matthews once with one mounted more to one end and could see that being an advantage sometimes, although it might make access harder for both guys that way. It looked about 10 inches forward of center.

Well, I'd say, whatever gets the job done. Ideally, in the center, as (1) that would distribute the weight more evenly, as a doorway dolly is pretty light, and (2) leaves the most room to operate around. That being said, I've seen cameras on all edges of the platform, if that's what is needed to get the shot.
