Hi,
I'm a DP from India. We are trying to set up a sound stage - 135' x 100' x 40'(height of catwalk). I'm looking for advice on the maximum amount of weight we should plan for on the catwalk. Thanks in advance.

I don't know the official specs but keep in mind it's not just the weight of the people who might be on the catwalk that has to be considered, but people possibly carrying heavy cables, tugging on those heavy cables, actually using force to pull things up onto the catwalk from below.

Get in touch with a key grip named Sanjay at sanjaysami@hotmail.com. He is a great key grip in India with a lot of credits to his name. He can help.

Will this be built to a government code and inspected? If so, there should be a code minimum that the plan checker will know. If not, I'd want to build it quite strong, say 120 - 150 pounds per square foot. Of course you'll need a structural engineer for a building of this size, that's another person to ask.
