Hey, I am doing a first time noir short. I don't have much experience with shooting in black and white. I'm shooting in digital, so if you have any suggestions or advice please feel free to let me know. Thank you

Shoot in color, do the black and white in post. Try to get sets where you can turn every natural light off or cover them up (windows, etc.). Light every set, and dim your fill a lot. Most of the time your fill should be 1/2 of your key, for noir make it like 1/4 to none.

Make sure your cast has suits and clothes like that, and see if they look good in sunglasses, that helps.
