jail cell bars and door

im shooting a jail cell scene, im using my basement and the walls have this old mexico jail cell look and feel but I dont have the door and bars, does anybody have any ideas on how I can creat or build the door and bars? Thanks! :rolleyes:

Obviously, it depends on the shots you need, but simple dowels painted with a metallic finish should do the trick for most conventional "jail" scenes.

I dont know what dowels are but thanks! I will look it up on google.

If you have any metal tubes/pipes around use those. Again depends how you want to shoot the scene, but you can get away by sticking a few short metal pipes up in front of the lens. Shouldn't be too hard to find a disused door that you could use - building material suppliers sometimes offer recycled materials, people refurnish their homes and replace their old doors.
