Help with my camera...

So I bought an old Nikon Super Zoom 8, put batteries in her, heard the motor whir, did the light meter test, the needle moved, figured I was good. I bought a roll of 64t reversal and ran it through the camera. Did lots of tests, inside, outside, key in, key out, just to see the way the camera worked and make sure it worked. The only weird thing was that the entire time, the little "end-film" warning marker was in the lens, but I figured it was no big deal, and went about my way. So I just got the roll back from the lab, ran it through my projector and saw nothing but black....for the entire roll. So now my question is, what in the heck happened, and what can I do to hopefully get this camera to work ok? Thanks for the help guys!
