Does anybody have a link to any super 8 footage that was transferred to High Def and posted online?

try daniel henriquez-ilic's ambitious 'halogenuros' project that was conceived to demonstrate the capacity of the super 8 image when coupled with 2k scanning (so "higher" than HD.

I just got word of it via my onsuper8.org widget. so I downloaded the HD version. It was a 1280 x 720 H.264 quicktime. I opened that in QUicktime pro, exported it as a prores hq version same dimensions and all that. I then opened it in FCP and output it via an intensity pro card out to a 34" sony xbr with HDMI input. THe results were amazing. I know I was watching Super 8 and it had the inherent softness and grain, but that was very welcome, it looked the best I have ever seen super 8 and it cements the fact that the format is an extremely worthy addition to any pro kit. The thing that amazed me was the keying. Sure there was a bit of fringe around one of the girls, but my eye led me to believe that it was more the fault of the keying operator rather the format. Couldn't believe how good the keys looked. Check it out if you haven't already.
