I was wondering if there was any way that you could tell if the day is going to have a really nice sunset. I mean with great color in the clouds and sky, a good sunset. Is there any way you can predict these or do you just have to hope that it will work in your favor? Same question for sunrises too. Thanks a lot.

Some of the things I have noticed: windy days produce nicer sunsets because a lot of dust is airborne, intensifying the effect of dusk. Pollution in big cities (LA) also accounts for that. Lots of big thunderheads towards the west make for dramatic late afternoon early evening light.
