Just got through watching Hanzo on IFC. I was not expecting that. I don't yet know just what my reaction to its content is. I did like the lighting and, especially, the compositions.

I saw that one , too. It's easy to see where todays wild anime themes came from. I like to
enjoy a good Ninja/Samurai movie ( Shinobi No Mono or Ninja Wars, for instance), but I thought
Hanzo:the razor was ....ah-ight, more like borderline porn. It was shot anamorphic like a lot of those
films of that era. Unfortunately, the latest Sonny Chiba Ninja movies( KAGE NO GUNDAN 2) are shot on HD, look TERRIBLE. I'm really hoping one of those producers decides to switch back to film.
