I think you have to ask the moderators to do that for you, but please don't go, I think you're good for this forum.

Or simply turn off any email notifications and don't visit the site. As good as not being here anymore.

David, despite having a differing social and political view on many issues than a lot of people on this forum, myself included, you have contributed greatly to the technical information provided here. I personally think you're over reacting to any situation here you might perceive as exists here but I also feel your deleting your account and no longer contributing would be a shame and loss to all of us at this forum. I would ask you to perhaps reconsider leaving and instead simple refrain from being drawn into political and social discussions you know will upset you. I've actually have had to do this on occasion myself because it's just no worth adding aggravation to my already stressful life. HOWEVER, if you are determined to quit and no amount of persuasion will change your mind, I do want to as least thank you personally for the information and at times, quite lively discussions I have gotten from, and had with, you. Honestly, your presence and knowledge will be missed. OH and IF one of the reasons you want to delete your account is because there are people sending you any rude emails or personal messages, I want you to know to me, that would be TOTALLY out of line and and asinine, reprehensible behavior that should not be tolerated here. I may not agree with many of your beliefs but that doesn't mean in any sense of the term, you shouldn't have the right to to have and defend them. For what it's worth. B)

Porn camera thread.

Oh that's long forgotten! Way back in November I believe, certainly old hat on a busy online forum by now.

It wasn't the thread itself.

Most of us appreciate a spirited debate (to a point). The problem for me came when a moderator said "if anyone mentions x or y again this thread will be shut down". A couple posts later a good friend of mine mentioned x and y in his post and nothing was done. I immediately lost respect for this forum. Others also chimed in saying that the rules were not being enforced 'evenly'. So I walked. Now, looking a couple months back, maybe that moderator did not have the authority to do as he said(?). I can only assume this was the case as it is detrimental to make a statement then not back it up. It undermines one's authority.

That is one thing you can not say about CML. When a moderator (listmum) makes a statement... they back it up. It doesn't matter if you are Vilmos Zigmond, if you break a rule or a decision by a moderator in the middle of a thread, that thread vanishes or you are put on probation. No exceptions. I have seen it happen several times mercilessly to very well known people and for that I deeply respect Mr. Boyle and CML.

I appreciate your comments Mr. Borowski, Mr. Beverly, Mr. Murashige and Mr. Teulon and have made many good friends here at Cinematography.com. Many with whom I speak with by phone often. Thanks again.

I'll linger... in hopes that all rules will be applied evenly without any bias to one side or the other of any issue.

You guys have a great day.

Not a position that I can either identify with or recommend, I'm afraid.

It's my fault for mentioning x, without realizing it sadly :(
I too wish you wouldn't go David, of course I totally understand why you are.
