Hi

I was wondering what what film stock was used in two films. Good Bye Bafana aka The Color of Freedom uses something in the beginning that is a cold blue look with crushed blacks, saturated colours and blowing whites, beautiful. The second film is a master piece called Blindness where the whites are blown beautifully and soft skin tones similar to The Diving Bell and The Butterfly. Thank you for any help.

Well, I don't know for certain, but you shouldn't just assume the look of either of these films is due to the stock used and/or special processing techniques.

Now with digital, then there are those techniques to consider too, but all of this is still secondary to things like lighting, filtration, diffusion, fill light, et cetera.
