HI guys

I just recieved my brand new Sekonic L-398 A meter from Ebay.

I have a Sekonic 758c which i am very used to, i compared the readings from both and they were spot on within a 1/3 of a stop, of course this is dependent on how close you interpret the needle calculating and stopping between hard line markers.

The problem i have though is that on the main footcandle readings for eg it reads 320 FC, turning the scale dial to line up with arrow to get my cine readouts ( this is without Highslide inserted) the indicated foot candles are out by as much as 70 !! and more, but the ISO & Aperature reading are always correct

Eg

L-398 A - 758 C

800 ASA 800 ASA
F 11 5/10th F 11 5/10th ( 758 is set in 1/10th steps)
FC 320 FC 250

Am I doing something wrong here ?

2) how many of you have the slide set, do you think it is neccessary and does it give direct readings for the cine scale.

After much research, I have found what the "problem" was.

Very nice gentleman and he explained to me in great detail.
The interesting thing is that the 758c and the L-28 use the same scale...

Also the slide set is not applicable for cine purposes.
