Hey,

Currently in my last year as a documentary filmmaker. I'm making a documentary
in DV-Pal. Somebody recommended me to make a print on 16mm.
But before I do it, I would like to see some examples...
Is there anyone who's got some stills online or a before and after ??

Thanks,

Gerard

why would anyone want to make a 16mm copy of a DV PAL Documentary?

I can understand if someone wants to make a 35mm blow-up from DV for theatrical release, but DV to 16mm...never heard of such a thing.

If you have the spare cash, I would spent it on making the best video copy I could, and make the master on DigiBeta.

If you get more information about someone that did it, it will be interesting to know why.

Cheers,

Oron.

I heard it more before, it has no purpose for distribution but for texture.
A DV Pal print on 16mm would give a nice homogeneous effect.
Nobody who can help me with this?

Its possible, I belive this company, does it: http://dvfilm.com/specials.htm

Not seen the results, but I can't imagine that it would be that great, 16mm is not a great projection format and itrs going to just make a soft format even softer.

I think spending the money on a high end, tape grade would be more useful and proabably allow you to achive the look you want in a more controlled manner.
