I hoped for The Dark Knight and The Wrestler to be nominated, but I guess they weren't. Even Roger Ebert expressed his upset for The Dark Knight not getting a nomination. http://rogerebert.su...SCARS/901229992 It's also fairly eerie that the results happened to be released on exactly one year after Ledger's death.

But I've seen pretty much all of these as of now and from these nominations I hope that Benjamin Button would win, but I'm quite certain that it won't happen. Seems like Slumdog's going to go for the gold.

Funny thing is this dude on IMDb, Ladderlappen (I think his username is AnotherBrickInTheWall-E now), predictions are almost spot on, he even called it long ago that Roberto D the Junior Man would receive a supporting nom for Tropic Thunder.

And Michael Shannon got a supporting nod. Yeah!

I was disappointed that Button was nominated for best motion picture. Besides its great cinematography, it was just too mediocre for me. Have you seen the "Curious Case of Forrest Gump" video created by Spike Ferestein? It's hilarious!

I guess I still have to see the Reader and Revolution Road. Been busy lately.

   That really was hilarious.

Revolutionary Road's great, like the other Sam Mendes' films, and Roger Deakins does continue to impress, the only thing is that it does get fairly depressing. It's just a matter of if you like that kinda film or not, I personally do, but I know a lot of people that don't.

The Reader's the only one I still gotta see, so I can't comment on it as of now.

As for the cinematography award, I have a feeling that The Dark Knight will easily win it with its use of IMAX and just the whole size of the production (camera dept. related). I think it will also take sound editing and visual effects.

As for best film, sadly I haven't seen any of them so I cannot comment. I really need to get out...

I thought the "same writer" bit was a joke...silly me for not checking the credits, but it IS the same writer from Forrest Gump who wrote Benjamin Button.

I feel a bit taken.
