I love American Cinematographer.
My uni has a good collection of AC mags from 90's onwards.
But looking for a particular article on a particular film becomes a problem sometimes.
I have searched the forum, and found an old 2005 topic.
At that point the answer to the question (Is there a list of articles/films covering all the issues?) was 'no'.

I have found a great resource today: http://www.theasc.co...ine/archive.htm
It covers all the articles from 1998 to 2006 (except 2001) stating the films' titles, instead of the articles' titles.

My question is - is there this kind of list for all the mags?
Or at least - for 2007-2008?
Because on the official theasc.com the article index for 2007-2009 is covered by listing the articles' titles, not the films. This is pointless, and makes looking for an article on a particular film quite hard.

Thanks.

I wrote my own index by title of movie and by topic (if no title) for AC magazine for 1970 to 1982. My index lists the title of the movie, the cinematographer, and a brief description of the article and key points.

I don't know the current progress on the database being created for AC magazine articles -- I asked years ago and there was talk about whether they could afford to hire a professional indexer to create it, which I'm not sure is necessary. It's always the same problem, finding the money to hire someone to do it.

I originally created my 1970's index on FileMaker I think, anyway it was years ago and now I just use the print-out I made.

That's pity.
The index would be really useful, I think.
I started making one myself for 2007-2008 issues.

Do you have your index somewhere on the web, David?
Would be really helpful for looking for particular articles.

Thanks!

Some microfilm collections of the older back issues may have a basic index. I read through some issues from the 60s at my univ and I think at the beginning of each role they have a name/subject index.
