The scene is part of a whimsical, Amelie-esque, film festival trailer that will be shot in a NYC handball court at night. We want to use the park lamps, and perhaps moonlight as motivation for the lighting scheme.
Right now we have a 5k Fresnel Senior, four 1K soft lights, one 2k mighty mole, & 3 tweenies. The court is 36' across and 26' in width. We plan to hang 3 rows of china balls, 2 balls per row, each with 250w tungsten. We plan to use the 5k as a key light, the china balls acting as a general fill, the soft lights & mighty mole to light give added flare to the background.
The court is next to a busy street that is full of a variety of neon lights. We're planning on gelling the the soft lights & mighty mole with red & amber gels to warm up the background, while adding the tweenies when needed.
If anyone has any suggestions about what could be a problem, or other options, please let us know.
