does anyone on the forum have any kind of specific insider's insight on to how this video was shot/lit?

my director is using it heavily as a reference for an upcoming project.

Hi Ryan,

Anything more specific you can refer to? Lighting and camera look pretty conventional to me. Maybe some sky replacement/enhancement in post.

Otherwise it appears to use plenty of the usual music video cliches: The lonely star wandering unnoticed in the crowd on Santa Monica Pier and Huntington Beach, two gorgeous chicks driving him down the PCH in a red convertible muscle car as he lays in back, oddly detached from the world around him. Just like in real life. :)
