FCP 5.1.4. sequence settings

I am re-editing my reel and am having some difficulty finding the best quality to edit and export. When I change the sequence settings to a higher resolution, It looks better, but I cannot go full screen with the image when I'm watching the exported clip in quicktime. I have footage ranging from 23.98fps to 25 to 29.97 and from h.264 and dv-pal (720x576) to dvcprohd 720p (960x720), dvcprohd 1080i60 (1280x1080), to hdv 1080p24 (1440x1080). I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a combination of frame size, aspect ratio, pixel aspect ratio, and field dominance in the sequence settings or if I would have to convert all of the files so they are all the same, and if so what would you recommend. Thank you very much.
