My name is Nick Roberto and I have been a member of this site for about a year now. I run a very small production company out of Charleston, SC and I am a member of IATSE 491 in both grip and electrics classifications. Like many businesses at this time, work for me is very slow. I choose, however, not to look at this as a bad thing but rather as an opportunity to focus more on the type of projects I would like to be associated with (i.e. less commercial/infomercial/real estate and more narrative and documentary work). My hope is to become a director of photography, though my skills in both lighting and camera work still need a lot of polishing. To this end I am posting to meet other filmmakers/DP's/gaffers etc. that have projects of any budget and skill level to which I can be a part of and gain experience from/create a show reel from, particularly in relation to camera and lighting. I don't mind traveling if it's for the right project and I look forward to meeting you all.
