I need a high quality Blu-Ray screener burned of a feature via a Pro-Res file and was hoping for a recommendation. The do-it-yourself route appears to be overly complex and quality issues too risky.

I've found that Adobe Premiere CS3 can encode beautiful quality Blu-Ray compiant H.264 files, and the bundled Encore CS3 can create basic, but very playable BD-R discs. I burned a Blu-Ray for a feature film's test screening, and it worked great - looking as good as you'd imagine on the big screen. Encore is quite an easy program to learn, especially if making a less complicated disc.

Note that Encore's Blu-Ray authoring capabilities aren't as good as their DVD-authoring capabilities. People have had problems creating video menus and other fancier disc options, but a basic still menu with background music works gorgeously.

If all you need is a high quality encode with simple menus then Toast can do it too. And the new FCP7 with Compressor makes Blu-Ray directly from the timeline.

You really don't need 'authoring'. You need a simple compiled Blu-ray disc.

To follow this up for anyone researching: To get it done correctly you'll want to work with a company using a Sonic Scenarist suite, which is a professional application. The above examples may work but, like with standard DVD's, it depends on the quality and reliability levels you are hoping for.

And Discmakers said they do not currently offer this service and seemed rather ignorant to the whole process. (as of 8/09)
