I've been offered "2 x Kupo 40" "C" stands with detachable turtle base, 3 section riser, 40" ext grip arm plus standard grip head" at what looks like a good price. Sounds complete, doesn't it? Or will I need to buy something else? (yeah, I know, a whole set of flags...)

I've no idea who makes the C stands I'm used to. Arri I think. Is Kupo any good?

Thought it was worth asking here. ;)

As with most arri stands and hardware, Arri C-Stands are basically rebadged Manfrotto/Avenger stands.

I've never heard of kupo. A quick google search tells me they're made in Taiwan, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high.

This side of the Atlantic we mainly use Matthews and to some degree Avenger. Never heard of Kupo either.

I use Norms C-stands with detachable turtle bases. They're great and made right here in the USA. :)
