Hi everyone,

We're looking for both pharmacy and hospital locations/sets for a commercial still shoot. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Let me know.

Thanks,
Josh

It would help if we knew where you're located.

I'm located in Salt Lake City Utah, but we're not expecting to find anything around here. We were thinking we'd probably end up shooting in L.A., but we're open to traveling anywhere in the U.S.

The thing to look for is an old hospital that has closed. A while back, we were able to shoot at the old "Queen of Angels" hospital here in LA. But the building may have been sold and converted into something else by now. It's a nice big Spanish style building up on top of a hill overlooking the Hollywood freeway.

Recently we had to film in a hospital room and found it easier to find an office and rent the hospital bed, IV, EKG, side table, curtains, etc.

I live about ten minutes' walk from a university campus that has a complete hospital ward and OR for training purposes.

Of course it's about six thousand miles away from you,, but you might look around for some place nearby that does nursing courses.

The last thing I'd do is go to LA. Get your equipment and services there, certainly, but shooting there will run you into a local government and populace who's very savvy about film and TV work, which can make it expensive. If you can pay it'll go very smoothly and you'll have every facility, but it will cost you. Doing it in the Tri-Podunk Area is likely to involve less red tape.
