Hi

I need tips on how to achieve a 90 degree angle shot (pointing downwards / nadir shot) without the use of a crane. It's for a really, really, really low budget short, and we can't afford renting a lot of gear. I have a Cartoni Focus fluid head, a hi-hat and ordinary gaffer gear.

Any help appreciated!

How much weight are we talking ? (what camera)

How high ?

Wide lens ?

Do you want movement ?

What is the surrounding area like ? (what can you build/rig from)

Do you need to be at the camera controls ?

Sheesh ! give a dog a bone here ;)

2m high, 85mm on a Canon 5D Mark ii, yeah I want movement! It's a small appartment, there's not much I can use. So far I figured I'll use a gorillapod!

2m !

Ok, so its not that much of a rig

Why not just use a monopod like you would a mic boom ?

With nothing else proper stick one end in a pocket and have a neck brace connected further up so your torso takes most of the weight leaving arms for control.

Cheap.
