I just saw Kalifornia again and from the first time I saw it, have been fascinated with the nuclear test town in the last sequence of the movie. It'd such a haunting place. I also saw something similar in the remake of The Hills have Eyes. I'm fairly certain these are real locations and not something that was created. Anyone know anything about these locations and where exactly they are? I'm assuming since there are still intact, they were never used in actual nuclear tests but built before above ground testing was banned then left to rot one the ban was put into place. Are they still military or government facilities and what would it take to get permission to use them I wonder.
