.Aiff for a PC...how to?

I was graciously given some music to use for some films.
However,when it was sent as an .aiff file,I couldn't open it on my PC.

Without getting a Mac, is there some software/freeware I need to have to download this?

Change the files' extension name. Type .wav where .aiff is. Simple as that.

also, if that doesn't work, which I'm not saying it will or wont, Audacity is a great free program which is for music editing, but is really best for converting files by importing and exporting.
