Hi Folks,

I have a Sony WRR-855 radio mic receiver which has lost it's two antenna
( I won't be using that assistant again... )

Sony are quoting £90 per antenna for replacements!

Now Sony, being Sony, always seem to charge 5 times everyone else's price, so I was wondering if anyone can suggest an alternative replacement antenna?

They are UK models working on UHF channels 67, 68 - although I noticed it's actually marked UK69 which makes me wonder whether it's actually UHF CH 69?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

If B&H Photovideo's cataloging is accurate that receiver has what are called reverse-BNC female connectors on it. That's about a cynical as a manufacturer can get, use a connector that forces you to buy their antenna.

However, there is hope, these people sell an adapter from the matching male to a standard BNC receptacle. http://shop.vetcosur...roducts_id=7299 .

You should be able to easily find antennas for UHF wireless receivers with standard male BNC plugs on them. If not, find yourself a amateur radio operator, there's a good chance they'll be able to help you. The more gray in the ham's hair, the better the chance they'll be knowledgeable about this sort of kludge.
